Watercolor is life!
My amazing aunt introduced me to the world of watercolor when I was just a tiny kiddo. Her guidance, plus lots of books from the library, a few painting classes in college, and self-study of other artists (my favorites are Mary Whyte, Morten Solberg, and Sterling Edwards) gave me the skills I needed to gain confidence as an artist and start painting pets for other people.
Why pets? My mom worked as a vet tech when I was growing up, so I had an endless supply of reference photos. Plus, pets are really fun to paint.
